Alex James Kelly Obituary - Gander, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alexander James Kelly announce his passing on August 7, 2017. Alex passed away at the Central Newfoundland Health Center, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL at the age of 82. Alex was born in Gambo in 1935. Worked with CN as a telegraph operator until  eventually residing in Gander as a postal worker. A consummate lover of life both indoors and out, Alex's infectious and gregarious nature never failed to elicit a smile or a chuckle or for anyone to be left wanting.  Predeceased by his parents James P. and Catherine Kelly; brothers Gus (Betty) and Patrick, sisters Monica (Harry), Agnes (Bill) and Muriel (Martin). Left to mourn, loving wife Dora,  sons Robert (Karen) of Gander and Craig (Gillian) of Thornhill, On. and daughters Grace (Earle) of Trenton, On..and Sharon (Terry) of Dartmouth, NS. Also leaving to mourn 7 grandchildren, Chad and Kellilyn Ivany, Jacquelyn, Jeff and Brandon Hollohan, and Ryan and Matthew Kelly. 5 great-grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren, Cameron and Scott Snow and also a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Resting at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander with visitation Wednesday evening August 9th , Thursday August 10th 2-4 pm and 7-9 . Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Parish Church Gander, NL, August 11, 2017 at 11am with Father Hearn officiating . Internment All Saints Cemetery ,Gander, NL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Alex's memory to The Alzheimer's Society of NL or to St.' Joseph's Parish , Gander.
He truly was an honest and compassionate human being who was dearly loved by all and will be truly missed.
