I was very blessed to have known two great grandmothers along with both sets of grandparents. I have some wonderful memories of all of them.
When I think of Nan what stands out is how giving she was. When I was a young girl she bought me my desired Holly Hobby doll when she and Pop came to visit us. Another time I admired a purple stoned butterfly pin that she had on. Without batting an eye she handed it over to me to keep. They also thought of us on our birthdays and sent us money in a card each year. At Christmas time she and Pop would take us out to Swiss Chalet for the festive special meal. The stories of their generosity go on and on. We were all spoiled by Nan and Pop Fry!
Another thing that comes to mind is Nan's quirky sense of humour. She enjoyed laughter and jokes. She liked to play jokes on people and she like to tell jokes.
The most important thing about Nan is the legacy that she has left behind. She was saved as a young girl and her school friends called her "Holy Ina". This didn't cause her to shy away but only served to increase her desire to serve the Lord. She and Pop raised my dad to be a Christian who then in turn (along with my mom) raised me to love the Lord and I hope to pass that on to others.
I am grateful to have known and loved my lovely grandmother. Though I am sad that she is gone, I am happy to know that she and Pop are with the Lord.
