It is with great sadness that the family of Lloyd Yetman announce his peaceful passing at the James Peyton Memorial Hospital in Gander on January 22, 2018 at the age of 90.
Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Pearl (Davis) and brother George, he leaves to mourn with fond, loving memories his wife of 64 years, Neta (Langdon), son Glenn (Sandra) of Dartmouth, N.S., daughter Andrea Farwell (Percy) of Gander, and grandchildren Daniel Yetman and Matthew and Julien Farwell as well as loving nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends.
Born in 1927 at Newtown, B.B., Lloyd has been a resident of Gander since arriving in 1949 to embark on a career as a Customs Officer. He has been a member of Gander Masonic Lodge since 1959 and was a founding member of Airways Lodge. A devoted follower of his “mighty Canadiens” and “mighty Dodgers” in professional hockey and baseball, Lloyd, along with his buddies Jimmy Bartlett and Harry Wiseman, were legendary supporters of the Gander Flyers in the glory days of provincial senior hockey, where players, officials, and fellow fans recall their boisterous, if not always sober, support for their team.
“Poor Lloyd” will always be remembered as a kind and generous man who was devoted to his family, lived life to the fullest, treated people with respect, wished no harm to anyone, and possessed a strong, unassuming faith.
Cremation has taken place. Interment at a later date
