Condolences

Condolence From: Stephanie Verge
Condolence: My sincere condolences to Woody's family. Woody was such a kind and humorous person, I have nothing but good memories of him at Service Canada. I knew him for many years but only really got to know him when we worked together for close to two years in the same unit. Woody was a very respectful Manager and a pleasure to be around. His expertise will certainly be missed in the workplace but most important of all he will be missed by all the lives he has touched for the better, in his short time with us. Rest in peace, Woody.

Condolence: To the family of Woodrow: It's so sad to hear of Woodrow's passing. My prayers and thoughts are will you all at this most difficult time. To pass away at such an early age is sad indeed. Woodrow and myself go back a long ways to the days when we were both on the Labatts Softball team in Gander Bay, a topic that we always had any time we ran into each other. He was a wonderful man and always proud of where he came from. May you always cherish the memories of such a loving father, brother and friend.

Condolence: My sincere sympathies to Woody’s family & friends. Thinking of you on this sad day as you celebrate Woody. Though ‘virtual’ colleagues I always enjoyed spending time with Woody when we worked together on committees or met for meetings. Forever a gentleman, he was great to pick up the phone for a quick chat and always sent a Christmas card with a lovely note. He was always very professional and well respected by his colleagues, employees and clients. You could count on Woody to be quick to tell a story, offer encouragement or words of wisdom and share a laugh. And he was always prepared with a bag of candy to help get us through a meeting. After such a courageous battle I hope he is now resting easy. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered!!!

Condolence: Kendra, James, Jill and all the Francis family, I was deeply saddened to hear about Woody. I worked with Woody for many years in Gander. Woody began his career in the federal public service working with me at the Student Centre in the early eighties. Later, Woody became a manager and I reported to him. Woody was always kind to me and to all of us in Programs – Joe Keough, Tolson Parsons, Janice Chaulk, Dianne Flynn, Terry John, Karen Torraville. He was more than a supervisor – he was a friend, always willing to listen and chat. There are lots of stories and fond memories. Christopher and Stephen Morrison, and I are thinking of you at this time, knowing full well how much he will be missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Condolence: My deepest condolences to the Francis family on your loss. I worked with Woody many years and never knew him to be anything but kind and considerate. He was one of my first Team Leaders when I started working at Service Canada and was always a positive and supportive Supervisor. And of course, there was always time for a laugh. He left this life too soon but in the time he had he made a difference in many lives. I will always remember him and am grateful for having known him.

Condolence: Kim and family- thinking of you guys at this extremely difficult time. My memories go back to our teenage years and, just as he has been described by colleagues, he was always the friendly, sweet guy that made friends with everyone. “Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and forever dear” Treasure your memories and let them bring you some small measure of comfort. Sherry Freake

Condolence: To the Francis family. There are a few people in life and in work that you remember just because they are so decent. Woody was one of them. I worked with him in Gander in the 1990's and I have fond memories of him as a truly nice guy. I'm sure his family will miss him, but I hope that the good times and the memories will give you strength at this difficult time. I'm thinking of you as well as the co-workers he left behind. He was a class act. Linda
