Eric Roy Sceviour was born October 4, 1941 in British Harbour to John (Jack) and Amy Ann Sceviour. He met his soul mate Lorraine in 1962 and they were married in Buchans in November, 1964. They moved to Gander where they raised three daughters.
Roy’s passion in life was his family, the Lord and hockey. His love of the Lord was evident in his demeanor as he was always there to lend anyone a helping hand or encouraging word. He dearly loved the Montreal Canadians, his favourite player was Doug Harvey and he spent many years playing, coaching and referring his favourite sport.
Roy was so proud of his children and grandchildren and loved to watch his grandchildren playing hockey, soccer and lacrosse. He always looked forward to spending time with them, telling them stories about growing up, his hockey “glory days” and treating them to Dairy Queen. He will always hold a special place in their hearts as a kind and loving Poppy.
Roy is survived by his wife Lorraine, his daughters Kim (Randy), Karen (Steve) and Kelly, his grandchildren Cassandra, Connor, Brandon, Jeremy and Garrett, brothers Eleazar, Cecil, and Harold, sisters Millie, Daisy and Shirley.
