Dr. Lorne Elms

Passed away July 23, 2013 at JPM Hospital after a short illness, Dr. Lorne Rene Elms, at the age of 81, he was born in Bay Robert’s NL. Predeceased by his parents, four brother’s and one sister. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Eileen (nee Chafe), son Andrew (Tammy), Ottawa, stepsons Brian (Renate), Ottawa, David (Kelli), Zephyrhills FL, and Bill Hayes (Carmen) Edmonton,sisters-in-law, Eileen Elms (Clem) Gander and Winnifred Elms ( Clarence) Harbour Grace, Nl. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Abigail, Christopher, and Lucas Elms, Karen, Audrey and Emily Hayes. He also leaves a large circle of in-laws, nephews, nieces and friends. He was a graduate of Dalhousie Dental School. Lorne practiced dentistry in Lewisporte and Gander for 35 years until his retirement in 1996.
Visitation will be held at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander, NL on Monday, August 5th , from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00 pm
Cremation has taken place and the funeral will be held at Fraser Road United Church, Gander, on Aug. 6 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Gander. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Salvation Army. Arrangements trusted to Stacey's Funeral Home.
