Condolence: Dear Mrs. Elms and family. It was with deep regets when we heard of the passing of Dr. Elms. Not only was he a great friend of my father, Eric, he was also our family dentist. Dr. Elms had a plesant disposition which helped to allay the fears of his many patients in the dentist's chair, especially mine. A great man, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was certainly a gentle man and so kind to the children when they visited him to have their teeth checked and treated. I accompained them from the school on several occasions. Condolence: Lorne Elms was not only a member of a family but also a well known member of a community, one of those people lived both in the old converted military airport and in the new town. His passing therefore is not only a loss to his family but also to Gander itself, as it is, so to speak, another element in the “changing of the guard”.
