It is with great sadness that the family of David Martin announce his passing on Wednesday, June 20th at the age of 66 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Left to mourn is his loving wife Karen, daughter Amy, son Peter (Julie) & three precious grandchildren Ben, Max & Maggie. Brothers Mike (Mary), Clarence (Bev), Greg (Margie), Felix (Judy), William (Joy), Charlie, Neil (Elaine), Sisters Clo, Mildred (John DuBourdieu), Bridget (John King), Loretta (Michael McCarthy deceased), Marian (Brian White), Eileen (Eric LaPointe), Special Sister Doreen (Ben Martin) and a large number of nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Uncle Dave.
David was predeceased by parents Mary & William Martin.
Born in Brents Cove, David was a successful entrepreneur who founded D.T. Martin Ltd in Gander in 1977. He was also an avid athlete and hiker who loved camping, boating and fishing in the summers.
The family will be receiving friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Friday June 22, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday June 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Father William Hearn with interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, blood donations at Canadian Blood Services would be greatly appreciated.
