Condolence From: Bill & Janice (Styles) Lorenzen
Condolence: We were shocked and saddened to hear of Derrick's sudden passing, and words cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. .
Bill & I both have many memories of Derrick from our growing-up years in Gander, and a couple of other connections - for Bill, though work with you guys, and for me, with my Aunt Dot & Uncle Ben being your longtime neighbours. We had some wonderful chats with Derrick when we were home just a couple of years ago. He will be very much missed by many. You are all in our thoughts and hearts, and we wish for you whatever will bring some comfort & peace during this sad and difficult time. Sending love & strength. ❤️

Condolence: Though a mainlander in Gander for only a few short years, there is few who treated me different than if I'd always been there. And right at the top of that list is Derek. Always a good word, always interested in whatever I had to say, always up for a good yarn or tale. To say I'm shocked that Derek is gone so young is an understatement. To all of Derek's family and friends, know that Sonya and I have our thoughts and condolences with you.

Condolence: We are so shocked and saddened by Derrck's passing. We still haven't adjusted to his absence at work since his retirement, so his passing is incomprehensible. He was a great colleague and friend, and he is missed.
We hope your memories will comfort you.

Condolence: I first met Derrick in the Spring of 1991 as we were classmates at the Transport Canada Training Institute in Cornwall. Within a matter of days he was driving me around the city or across the US border for cheap booze and a meal. Eventually he would just throw me his keys and away I would go. When we returned to Gander he would pick me up every morning before class and drop me off at the end of the day. Although it didn’t seem like a big deal to him it is something I’ll never forget. That’s who he was. My condolences to the Knee family during this difficult time. Rest In Peace Dick.
