Passed peacefully away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Wesley N. Oake, aged 96 of Gander, NL. He was predeceased by his parents: James and Tina; sons: Darryl and Terry; siblings: Roy (Betty), Solomon (Lynda), Selma (Roy), Noreen (Richard), Geneva (Malcolm) and Robie.
He leaves with fond and loving memories his wife Myrtle of over 72 years; children: Sandra (Austin), Sherry, Dana and daughter-in-law Pat; grandchildren: Niki (Chris), Bradley (Gretchen), Philip and Stephen; great grandchild Jaxon; furry friends: Tommy and Mittsy the family cats, home support workers Sherry-Lee and Deanne; as well as large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday Sept. 19, 2-4 & 7-9pm, from Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander, NL. Funeral service to be held Thursday Sept. 20, 2 PM from the Fraser Road United Church in Gander. Rev. Kathy Brett officiating. Internment to follow at the United Church cemetery in Glenwood. Donations may be given in Wesley’s honor to United Church in Glenwood or the Fraser Road United Church in Gander.
