Obituary for Albert (Bert) Moss

Albert (Bert) James Moss – Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital on September 24, 2018 following a brief battle with lung Cancer. Born in Happy Adventure, NL Bert lived the majority of his years in Gander and had a career where he worked as a Crash Fire Rescue Firefighter. Bert was a “jack of all trades” when it came to mechanics and carpentry. In his spare time he spent many hours on the Gander River and in the woods hunting, fishing and berry picking with his buddy Max. He thoroughly enjoyed to watch his granddaughters grow up, from teaching them the art of fishing to attending their many hockey games He is survived by his wife Florrie (Price) of 54 years; sons Trevor (Kelly), Halifax; Dean (Gisele), Dubai; granddaughters, Sarah and Kate Moss, Halifax; brother Clyde (Gloria), Happy Adventure; sisters Queena (Ron) Healy, Happy Adventure and Vera (Gus) Deraps, Eastport. In addition to his parents, Bert was predeceased by his sister Roma, brother-in-law Gunner and niece Christine Laurell. A very special THANK YOU to Bert’s sister-in-law, Bev Stroud for spending the last month helping Florrie. Bev has been an Angel through this difficult time. Another thank you to the entire staff of the James Paton Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place and Visitations will be held at Stacey’s Funeral Home on Wednesday September 26th 7:00-9:00, Thursday September 27th 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00. A service will be held for immediate family. For those wishing to give in Bert’s memory, donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
