Condolence: Dear Aunt Florrie, Trevor, Dean and Family:

We wish we could with you, but you know our "hearts" are there. Uncle Bert was a wonderful Uncle to Christine and I. He was "salt of the earth", a "true gentleman" with a big heart, a great story teller, always a great wealth of information on local history, along with the wonders of nature, and everything in between, and a person who always had time for his family and friends.

As kids, I think we can honestly say that we EACH have a memory from Uncle Bert that is uniquely ours. Because he took the time with each of us to create "special moments". And because of that, he made you feel like you mattered, in your own unique way.

Aunt Florrie, please know that we send our strength and love to you, and we hope you in the days ahead you will find comfort with family and friends, and solace and peace in knowing that you did all that you could do. It was evident from my last conversation with Uncle Bert that he admired you greatly for your strength in all this.

To Trevor, Kelly, Dean, Giselle, and his beautiful grand-kids, Sarah and Kate, whom he talked about so proudly, keep the memories close, and celebrate in the legacy he leaves behind with us all - from a LIFE WELL LIVED.

How very sad I was to hear of Bert's passing. The last time we spoke, was at Dad's own funeral 6 years ago. I remember having such a warm feeling when I saw Bert and you also, Florrie. You both reminded me of happier times, years ago, when Bert and Dad worked together. He was a really nice man. Please take good care. We are thinking of you all.
