Condolence From: Marion Pardy
Condolence: It was only recently that I learned that my very respected teacher of Grade 6 died in November with funeral on December 18th. Fortunately, we had contact throughout the years, the most recent being at the end of September 2018 when I telephoned to inform her that her friend, Dr. Betty Brett had died. I extend my sympathy to her family and friends. Rosemarie Carruthers, could you email me at m-pardy@nf.sympatico.ca as I would like to send you a tribute to Hazel that I wrote a few years; I was pleased to be able to send it to her via regular mail. She, indeed, was a strong, multi-talented teacher and person who influenced my life and the lives of countless others. Marion Pardy

Condolence: To Hazel's family, very sorry of hear of Hazel's passing. She was a teacher I respected and admired. I remember her as gentle and soft-spoken, yet she was able to let us know when we were misbehaving in class with just a look. She taught the value of education. She was a beautiful lady. May you rest in peace, Miss Batstone.
