Obituary for William (Bill) Pinsent

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of William (Bill) Harvey Pinsent. Oct 15, 1945 - Jan 19, 2019, passing peacefully in his sleep with family by his side. Born in Grandfalls, raised in Gander, Moncton and St.John’s. Studied Engineering at MUN and and went on to work as a civil servant with the provincial government. As a Regional Supervisor with Provincial Parks he went on to become Chief of Operations of Provincial Parks. Served on multiple task forces and committees, policy writing and finally retired as Manager of Administration and Support Services for Youth Corrections. Bill loved nature, photography, hunting, fishing, and his music; especially his guitar. Bill is predeceased by his parents Donald H. Pinsent of Aspen Cove and Juanita (West) Pinsent of Ladle Cove. Leaving to mourn are his son’s Robby (Kim) and Jayson (Christine), and three granddaughters Kalista, Brooklyn, and Kaitlyn. His Step-daughter Kim (Troy) Power and her children Justin, Nichole, Brandon and Austin. Step-son Kirk (Budden). Sister Eleanor (George) Leslie. Many fond memories with Carol (Yetman) Pinsent (Robby and Jayson’s Mom), and also many great memories with Elizabeth Budden (Kim’s and Kirk’s Mom). Special love Rosann Wellon and a large number of Family and Friends. Special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of 4NA HSC for their care and support, and to Darren and Amy for their help in the arrangement of services for Bills fairwell.
Funeral service, Friday Jan 25th 2019 at 12:00pm. St.Stephans United Church in Ladle Cove. Followed by a social at Joby’s Pond Lounge, Aspen Cove. Internment at a later date in spring. In lieu of flowers, donation to ALS society of NL, greatly appreciated.
