Ethel Mae
February 21, 1933 – March 19, 2019
Passed peacefully away at her residence surrounded by her loving family, Ethel Mae Barrett (nee Mercer) of Gander formerly of Harbour Grace. She was predeceased by her husband Claude of Harbour Grace; their baby daughter Deborah; her parents Eloil & Ethel Mae Mercer of Upper Island Cove and son-in-law James Morrissey. Leaving to mourn her daughters: Elizabeth, Hilda (Albert Coffey), Doreen (Norman Porter), Claudia (Paul Adams); sons: Donald (Mary Elaine), Shawn (Karen); 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; companion Maurice Kennedy; sister Mary Bishop, also a large circle of family and friends. She loved them all. A special thanks goes to Greg Banfield of the Palliative Care Services in Gander and also to home support worker Chanelle Gagnon. As per her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service at this time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Stacey’s Funeral Home Gander/Carmanville.
