Lester James Jr. (“Kip”)
May 14, 1944 – March 28, 2019

Passed peacefully, with his family at his side, Lester James Shea Jr. (“Kip”), aged 74. Predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Josephine, as well as his parents, Lester and Frances, and his brother James. Kip leaves to mourn his children Patty Ann Maloney (John), Peter (Cathy) and Keith (Becky), and his grandchildren Allie, Joey, Nell and Frankie. Kip also leaves his sisters Patricia Dawe, Barbara Lewis (Russell), and Jean Chiles (Roger), as well as a large and wonderful circle of friends and relatives. Kip loved nature and lived for the Newfoundland outdoors, spending many happy times with family and friends at his cabins on Caribou Lake and Gambo Pond. He loved music and making fun, and always enjoyed a good laugh. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to the Ostomy Canada Society or Daffodil Place. Resting at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander, with visitation on Saturday, March 30th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 31st from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00p.m. Mass of Christian burial from Saint Joseph’s Church, Gander at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1st, with internment to follow at a later date. Special thank you to Delilah Guy for her excellent care, as well as the staff at Community Health, James Paton Memorial Hospital, and the Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre. My sincere condolences to the Shea family. Was out of town when Kip passed and didn't find out until recently. Last talked to Kip at Josephine's funeral only a few short months ago. Had some great times at the Gambo pond cabin. Kip..... Rip.

Pete, Patty and Keith, your father had a special way of making me laugh and since I have learned of his passing, I cant seem to get the sound of his mischievous giggle out of my head. Wish i was there to hear the stories u are surely reminiscing on about your dad. Best to everyone and I must remark that is a classic photo of him doubling out in darts!

To Young Kip and Family,
As far as Keith’s buddies went I don’t think he ever called us by our names. We were “a bunch of muttonheads”!
He treated every one of us with the respect Men, (young or old) deserve.
To this day I use the same technique with young fellas ( ie Muttonheads) who do better when they know they are worth it. A Fine Man. You had Great Parents.
