Obituary for Maggie Ivany

Passed away peacefully at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, on Thursday, May 16th, 2019, Maggie Ivany, age 78.
Predeceased by her parents Bill and Muriel Collins; husband Ben; brothers Ted Collins, Eric Collins, Bert Collins , Otto Collins and her partner of 7 years ,Peter Hoyles.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son Tony Ivany (Blaze) of Twillingate, daughters Kathy Anstey (Rob) of Gander, Lisa Ivany of Gander, brother Clayton Collins (Gertie) of Hare Bay, sister Vi Taylor (Dave) of Gander, grandchildren Brandon Ivany (Joelle); Dustin Ivany, Nicole Butler (Ryan); David Anstey, great-grandchildren Jordyn Butler, Sloane Carey, sisters-in-law Bernice Reid (Larry); Phoebe Ivany (Bernie) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Family will be welcoming friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Sunday, May 19th from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. and Monday, May 20th from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. Funeral service will take place on Sunday, May 26th at 2:30 P.M. from St. Martin’s Anglican Cathedral. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.

For anyone who knew Maggie, they would agree that she was a ray of sunshine. She brightened a room just by entering it. Her smile was genuine and her laughter was infectious.
She was a master in the kitchen and was famous for her delicious breads and cream puffs which she loved sharing with others.
Small in stature, but a heart as big as the moon…She will be tremendously missed.
