Carl's life and heart was on the Gander River where he spent more than sixty years as a guide and about twenty years as manager of the Cabot Lodge ~ formerly known as Allied Cabins. You could always sense his excitement as the ice went out of the river in the spring and the time came to make that first trip of the season. When asked about moving to Gander in the last year or so he said he was sure he’d not be able to manage without seeing the river. An avid collector of stuff and an amateur mechanic you could always find more outboard motor parts in his shed than you could count. He will be greatly missed by his brothers and buddies who’s visits kept him going in the last years of his life. Many thanks to everyone who visited him and helped brighten his days since Mom’s passing. We trust that he has now crossed that beautiful river and is enjoying the gift of new life.

Arrangements entrusted to Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander – Carmanville.
