Agnes Mary Theresa (nee Nolan)

Passed peacefully away, Agnes Mary Joy at the James Paton Memorial Health Care Centre on Tuesday august 2, 2019 at the age of 83 years.

Agnes was born on November 6, 1935. She was one of twelve children raised by James & Rose Nolan of Sweet Bay. At a young age, Agnes moved to Gander where she remained for the rest of her life. She worked at the Gander International Airport, and through the years made hundreds of friends. She also met the love of her life, Paul Joy, whom she married in 1970. Agnes and Paul were blessed with a son, David Joy. Paul and David would receive her love and devotion for all her life.

Agnes had another love, St. Joseph’s Church. Her love and devotion to God and church will be remembered and admired by all who knew her.

Agnes was predeceased by her husband Paul Joy; parents James and Rose Nolan; brothers: Edward and Leo; sisters-in-law: Christine Nolan, Rita Fitzgerlad; brothers-in-law: Michael (Mary Joy), Gerald (Margaret) Joy and Aiden Joy.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Father David Joy; sisters: Ann (Reub) Hillier, Rose (Bill) Legge, Doris (Rob) Nowlan; brothers: Walter (Kay), James (Marg), Bill (Cecillia), Sam (Shirley), Terry, Brian (Shawn); sister-in-law Frances Joy, also leaves a multitude of nieces, nephews all whom she loved, and they whole heartedly returned that love. Agnes also leaves a large circle of loving friends and she would ask them to pick a new someone who needs a friend like her.

Family will be receiving friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, 60 Roe Avenue, Gander on Saturday August 3, 2019 at Sunday August 4, 2019 between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Monday August 5, 2019 from 10:30a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Gander on Monday August 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made in Agnes’ memory to St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church,and / or Daffodil Place .Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Stacey’s Funeral Home Gander/Carmanville and to leave a message of condolence please visit our website at www.staceysfuneralhome.ca
