God grant that I may live to fish,
Until my Dying day.
And when it
Comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray.
When in the Lord’s
Safe landing net,
I’m peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be judged,
Big enough to keep.

Mrs. Hancock and family, so sorry to hear of your sad loss. Over the years I have mentally said many thank-yous to Mr. Hancock for the lessons he taught, especially in English, grammar and Literature. Mr. Hancock always had a quiet voice in the classroom but had no trouble holding our attention and getting the lessons across. I hope he realized how much he was appreciated by his students. Rest in Peace, Mr. Hancock.

So sorry to hear of Chris’s passing. He had such a huge impact on Scouting in Gander and I have such great memories of his leadership, both with 1st St. Martin’s, as well at the District level. He led by example, and he was a great influence on me as a young Scouter. My condolences to the family.

So many good memories with Chris, Trevor my Dad (Bill Burry) and I. I look at my own best buddies now and realize what it was Chris and my father shared. We were just fortunate to be carried along on their hi-jinks. Usually involved escapades on the high-seas or the backwoods and often one exciting sniff away from disaster. Chris embodied fun and brought that out in my dad. Growing up, life around Chris, meant life was good. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear about Mr. Hancock passing, my deepest condolences to all of the families. Mr. Hancock taught me from Grade eight through to Grade eleven. One of the best educators in Gander during that time. Thanks Mr. Hancock for everything you have done for al the students whom you taught.
