Obituary for Kevin William Donahue
Passed peacefully away at the James Paton memorial Health Center Kevin William Donahue on Wednesday September 4, 2019 at the age of 84 years. Kevin was predeceased by his parents William Joseph & Bridget Donahue; brothers Leo, Thomas and Gerald. He was happily married for 52 years to a wonderful wife Clara Moss Donahue from Eastport; daughter Debbie and a son-in-law Atif and three grandchildren, Charlie 14, Josh 11 & Krystal 8, all living in Ontario; sisters-in-law Ruby Donahue of Bishop Falls, Shelia Donahue of St. John's and Mary Donahue of Appleton.
Kevin William Donahue was born and raised in Boyds Cove, Newfoundland. He moved to Gander, in 1953 where he worked in the aviation industry of communications as a Flight Service Specialist for 38 years retiring in 1991. His hobbies when he moved here were salmon fishing, moose hunting and just being outdoors. He began oil painting as a hobby in 1993 and to date has over 200 paintings completed. His inspiration came from this beautiful island of Newfoundland. Kevin and Clara both share their love of animals and have a fun loving shih-tzu named Nikki, which is pet # 7.
Family will be receiving friend at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander on Friday September 6, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday September 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. From St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church officiated by Father William Hearn with cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations in Kevin's memory may be made to the Gander & Area S.P.C.A.
