Upon completion of high school she entered the General Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1944. She married her childhood sweetheart who had just returned from overseas and moved to Gander where she lived the remainder of her life. While in Gander, she worked at the Banting Memorial Hospital and later the James Paton Memorial Hospital.

Eileen was deeply devoted to her family and church. She will always be remembered for her unwavering love for family, her kind heart and resounding laughter.
