To the Foley family: Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, as you prepare to say final goodbyes to a most loving woman. Mae and Mom met by pure coincidence, or maybe by divine intervention, when they became temporary roommates at the Golden Years Estate senior's home. After a very short time, the temporary status was dropped, as neither of them wanted to be parted from the other. They were very different in their histories and family dynamics, but bonded like sisters. Mom was quite worried when Mae started showing signs of illness, and missed her like crazy when she was in hospital. When Mae went back to the home for a while in a private room, Mom visited her and Mae cherished her visits. Mae told me on my visit "I told them they had no right to break us up". They truly were good for each other. She was a beautiful person that I am glad I met on this life's journey; and am even more grateful for the friendship that she shared with my mother. That friendship, I believe, enhance both their final years. It is indeed ironic, that after living together in great harmony for 3 &1/2 years, they have entered their final rest together within 3 days. May she rest in peace. Our love to you all.

I met Mae many years ago when our mothers were sick at Lakeside Home. We both visited our moms every night and consequently became friends. Mae was such a kind and caring person. As we were dealing with the same illness we compared notes often and supported each other. I've thought of her often since we left Gander, now she is reunited with Dick, the love of her life. Rest in Peace, dear friend
