Obituary

Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander in the presence of her loving family, Agnes Granter (nee Hawkins) at the age of 93.

Predeceased by her loving husband of 73 years Gerald, son Dennis, great-grandchildren Gracie and Simon, Sister Marion and brother William.

Left to mourn with so many happy, loving memories are her children Lloyd (Gertie), Duncan (Diane), Joyce (George), Pam (Don) and Craig (Andrea). Also left with cherished memories are grandchildren: Tara (Bob), Paul (Jill), Brian (Julia), Cory (Krissie), Brittany (Gene), Luke, Gerry, Matthew (Madli), Chelsea, Madeline, Rebecca, great-grandchildren: Robyn, Alex, Caden, Nicholas, Max and Emma. Agnes was blessed to have the Goldsworthy family in her life, her “Pinedo Road” Family.....especially Madgie Cornick, her walking partner Rita Simms and a large circle of family and friends.

Due to the Covid19 pandemic, services will be scheduled for a later date. Cremation has taken place.

To say we were blessed to have Mom would be an understatement. Her love, compassion, understanding, commitment and support of her family was ever-present and unconditional. Mom was always up for a good time and her laugh was contagious. Her knitting and involvement with the Anglican Church Women were always a comfort for Mom. Her knitting graces the homes of many people and every single item was created with love. Mom taught us love and the meaning of what life should be about. It is this love that surrounded Mom and was with her through her journey and it is this love that will help us through this most difficult time. We are blessed to know that Mom and Dad are together again, forever.

A special thank you to the Staff of Lakeside Homes for their care, compassion and for the dignity they always showed Mom. We are sure they will miss Mom's stories.

To LLoyd, Duncan, Joyce, Pam, Craig, Family Members & Friends,
Muriel and I were deeply saddened by the news of your loving Mom's passing. Being a Gander girl, Muriel's memories of Mrs. Granter go back a lot further than mine. Muriel and Joyce were best (childhood) friends and they still are today. For the several times that I enjoyed with Gerald and Agnes Granter, I will always remember them as being the nicest kind of people. They were the very best of the best! They were always welcoming, always smiling, always positive, always ready to serve up a cup of tea and a snack. I always left the Granter's home feeling better than when I went in. Gerald and Agnes had this natural gift of being able to boost everyone's spirits! I don't know if anyone in heaven needs their spirits boosted, but you can be darn sure that Gerald and Agnes are making every effort. Muriel and I want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Their lives will continue on through all of our precious memories. God Bless.
John 16:22 - So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
Love,
Ray & Muriel Lebeau
