Fred was born on June 5, 1930 in Kerley’s Harbour, Trinity Bay and moved to Bonavista Bay at a young age. There he met his true love, Abigail Brown, and they were married on December 30, 1952 and they lived and raised their family in Trinity until their move to St. John’s in 1974 for him to work in there. As a young man, he worked at a number of jobs including fishing and woodcutting and then started a career as a carpenter for the remainder of his working life. He built his own home in Trinity and built much of the furniture for the home himself. He retired from work in St. John’s in 1990 and moved back to Trinity until they moved to Gander in 2015.
He loved traveling with Abbie in his Motor home and meeting different people along the way. He loved having his family around him and was always telling stories of the olden days to the kids. Fred had a smile that would brighten up the room when he entered. He will be missed by all.
