Obituary for Velma Barnes
Velma Triffie Barnes, 53, of Horwood Newfoundland, passed at 2:30am, Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at James Payton Memorial Hospital in Gander, Newfoundland to Alva and Wilfred Barnes.
She is survived by her beloved son Stephen Piercey (Allan Catto) of St. John's, Newfoundland; she is also survived by her siblings; Betty, Ross (Heather), Joan (Loyde), Debby (Derrick), Gaye(Dave), Verna (Ivan) and Beatrice (Lester).
Velma's family would like to thank and acknowledge the dedicated and caring staff at James Peyton Memorial Hospital and the many home care workers over the years that cared so deeply for her.
Velma dearly loved her family, laughing with friends, and the warmth of the sun. She will be forever missed by those who lives were touched by her love.
Due to Velma's wishes and current social guidelines there will be no service but her family is thankful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
