It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Augustus (Gus) Boone. Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 15th, 2020 at Lakeside Homes, Gander, age 75.
Predeceased by his parents Roland Boone and Joanne Boone Goodyear, stepfather Raymond Goodyear, brothers William Boone, Ronald Boone, Baxter Boone (Betty), sisters Ethel Mews, Gladys Boone, Mildred Boone, Beatrice Boone, step sister Marjorie Snow, nephew Mervin Coles and niece Beatrice Mews.
Left to mourn with loving memories are his daughters Ann Boone (Steven Cull), Krista Foss (Kent Foss), Tammy, sister Mary Chapmen, grandchildren Kennedy, Ryleigh, Jackson, Taylor, Isaiah, Makenna, Mason, step siblings Clarence Goodyear, Edgar Goodyear, Madge Hobbs, Jean Snow, Joy Cuff, Shirley West, nephews and nieces Cory Boone, Craig Boone, Kelly Boone, Anita Boone, Draper Hart, Baxter Coles, Tony Coles, Sue-Ellen Coles, Francis Mews, Enos Mews, Max Mews, Cordell Mews, Donald Mews, Margaret Mews, Wavey Mews, pallbearers Steven Cull, Craig Boone, Clarence Goodyear, Edgar Goodyear, Robert Goodyear, Bobby Goodyear and a large circle of relatives and friends.
Gus was born in Little Seldom, Fogo Island on October 21st, 1945. He was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a loving father and grandfather, who would do anything for his children and grandchildren. He was the happiest when fixing cars and well known in the communities for helping anyone and everyone in need with fixing their cars. He loved working with his hands so much that he helped with the building of the elementary school on Fogo Island.
He was loved and will be missed by all.
Family will be accepting friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Friday, December 17th from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 19th at 1:00 P.M. from Bethel Pentecostal Church, Carmanville. Due to Covid - 19 restrictions, funeral service will Interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gus's memory may be made to the family.
