Ann Louise Isobel Blake (nee. Sheppard)
April 1, 1943 - April 4, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ann Louise Isobel Blake (nee. Sheppard), announces her sudden passing at her home in Victoria Cove, NL, on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, at the age of 78, with her devoted husband by her side.
Predeceased by her parents, Stewart and Joyce Sheppard; brother Richard; sisters Florence, Enid, and Ruth, parents in law Cecil and Eva Blake; brother in law Alvin; sister in law May; special friend Jacqui.
Left to mourn with loving memories are her husband of 44 years, Frank; her 4 dearly loved children - Rodney (Stephanie) Blake of Torbay, NL; Randy Blake of Portugal Cove - St.Philips, NL; Rhonda (Curtis) Quinn of Port Coquitlam, BC; and Leslie-Ann (Terry) Fancey of Gander, NL; her five precious grandchildren - Megan, Stacey, Kaitlyn, Rhianna and Blake. Also leaving to mourn are her sisters in law Ruby (Evan), Marjorie (Bill), Isabel, Nellie (Sean), and Daphne, brother in law Harold; and a very large circle of other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Ann and Frank met each other in Clarke’s Head in 1973, where they were both teaching. They were married on May 20, 1976 and settled in Victoria Cove to raise their family. Ann was a strong, caring and compassionate woman who touched many lives during her teaching career and beyond. She cherished visits and phone calls from her children, she adored her grandchildren and never missed acknowledging a holiday or special occasion. She has many close friends who will miss her presence in their lives.
Ann was a woman of great faith, and it is in this faith that she found comfort in her most difficult days. Ann overcame 2 separate battles with breast cancer, and suffered recently with other illnesses. She always maintained strength and courage in whatever challenge she faced. Our lives will never be the same without her, but we will take comfort in our memories, and that she passed at home with her husband by her side.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in Ann’s memory to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Gander Bay, or to the Gander Bay Volunteer Fire Department.
In keeping with Ann’s wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of her life will take place at a later time when our family can all be together.
