Surrounded by family, Phyllis May O’Grady, passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the age of 84 years.
Phyllis is predeceased by her parents: Sarah and John Saunders; brothers: Fred, Bill and Jack; sisters: Clara and Sadie; mother and father in law: Ellen and Michael.
Leaving to mourn, her husband Mike of 63 years; daughters: Philomena (Paul), Tina (Gerald); sons: Mike (Jennifer), Tony (Barbara); sisters: Joyce (Fonce) O’Keefe, Juanita (Gary) Lubin, Joan Patey, Anne Anstey, Harriett Mahoney, Eleanor Butt; sister in law: Emily O’Grady; grandchildren: Stephen (Brittany), Samantha (Ross), their mother Bessie O'Grady, and Ryan; great grandchildren: Morgan, Noah, Finnley, Liam, Emmett; CJ and many other relatives and special friends.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Dr. Carmel Casey, Nurse Lillian Paul and the staff of Lakeside Homes for the exceptional care and support that she received during the past couple of years.
As per Phyllis’ wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander. A celebration of her life service to be held July 13th 2022 2:00 pm at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Gander. Interment to follow at the Common Wealth Cemetery, TCH. No flowers by request; however, donations may be made to charity of one’s choice.
