Obituary for Julia S. Gallahue

January 21, 1948 – April 7, 2022

Passed away in the presence of her loving family on Thursday April 7, 2022 at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Julia S. Gallahue at the age of 74 years.

She was predeceased by her parents Jacob & May Brown; father & mother-in-law Mike & Mary Gallahue; sister Anne; brother Gordon; sister-in-law Pricilla Brown, May Brown and brother-in-law Dave Curlew.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Vince Gallahue; son Michael (Kerena) Gallahue of N.S; daughter Michelle (Don Hillyard) of Manitoba; grandchildren: Colin & Mackenzie Hillyard, Megan & Michael Gallahue; brothers: Eric Brown of Lewisporte, George Brown (Margaret) of Gander, Sterling Brown (Barbara) of N.S., Owen Brown (Anne) of St. John’s; sisters: Eileen Newman (Corb) of Bay Roberts, Monnie Whiteway (Max) of Lewisporte, Diane Curlew of Lewisporte and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

In keeping with Julia’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Family will be receiving friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Saturday April 9, 2022 between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. Martins Anglican Cathedral, Gander on Sunday April 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Jim Beaton with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Julia’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Julia worked for 20 plus years as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Lakeside Homes in Gander.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and all staff at Lakeside Homes & Dr. Gabriel for their care and compassion.
