Obituary for John Hynes

John Hynes
March 8,1964-April 25,2022

Surrounded by the love of his family, John Fitzgerald Hynes passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home.

John was the center of his family. A loving and devoted husband of 34 years to his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth. A proud ‘girl dad’ through and through to his three daughters Katherine (Shane Fudge), Kimberly (Shane Eveleigh) and Stephanie (Brandon Saulnier).
Recently promoted to the title of Poppy, he finally got his boy, his pride and joy, Wes John Fudge.

A beloved son to his mother Clara and the oldest sibling to his brothers and sisters Inez (Lester Brown), Joan (Lorne White) Edward Hynes (Diana), Clara (Anthony Vatcher), and Thomas Hynes. John was a true family man.

John will be remembered as the type of man who didn’t need recognition for being kind. He was a man who showed up. He always chose actions over words. He would often be found cruising the neighborhood with his coffee in hand or out on the river catching salmon. When he was out he would always check in on his daughters, making sure they could get out after snowstorms and always taking care of their dogs, whatever they needed, he was always there. John was a man who has perfected the art of the small things.

Although a man of few words, John still lived his life loud. He was the colorful ‘Crazy Johnny Hynes’ and was always unapologetically himself. You could hear him coming from streets away when driving his truck. John was the life of the party, he loved listening to his music loud in his shed and he was always game for a cold one. John lived his life to the fullest.

In John’s lifetime the void of a father lost too soon is still felt by aching hearts. John was predeceased by his father Edward Hynes. The pain his family feels runs deep and echos this all too familiar loss. But like his father, John’s legacy runs deeper.

Our future family won’t meet their Poppy Hynes, but they will know him. John lives on now in our hearts and our precious memories. He will make an impression on them, they will know him, we will make sure of that.
