Obituary for Daryl Best

BEST
Daryl Christopher
March 16, 1978 – April 29, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Daryl Best announce his passing after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by family and friends on Friday, April 29th at the age of 44 years.

Left to mourn with fond memories his loving wife Candace; stepson Tyler; stepdaughter Haley; mom Judy (Pearce); dad Corbert (Sherry); three brothers: Mike (Tracy), Jason, Jordan (Jodi); his fury family member Luna, many nieces & nephews; mother-in-law Hazel (Cyril); father-in-law Edgar; sister-in-law Crystal (Brian) and brother-in-law Brian (Tracey).

Daryl is predeceased by his grandparents Joseph & Rachael Best and grandmother Minnie Peyton.

While Daryl was shy, he was an integral part of the lives of those lucky enough to share those lives with him, as he provided endless support listening intently to any complaints while himself making few and asking for little in return. Daryl loved his family, loved working with his hands, loved the outdoors, fishing and camping with Candace by his side. Daryl will be sadly missed.

A special thank you is extended to the staff at the Cancer Clinic at the James Paton Memorial Hospital and especially to Greg Banfield (Palliative Care Nurse) who was there for Daryl and Candace 24/7, Jessica Jones and Dr. Dawn Armstrong.

Family will be accepting friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Saturday, April 30th from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. A small private Funeral service will take place from Stacey’s Funeral Home on Sunday, May 1st officiated by Bishop John Watton with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Daryl’s memory may be made to the family.
