Obituary for Ross Williams

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bertie Theodore (Ross) Williams announce his passing at James Paton Memorial hospital in Gander on August 16, 2022 at the age of 81.

He is predeceased by his father Bert, his mother Emmie and his step-mother, Lilly and Father-In-Law, Ben Smith.

Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife of 60 years Alma, sons Todd (Audra) of Truro, Nova Scotia and Tony (Candice Ennis-Williams) of St. John’s, Sister-in-law Marion Smith (Tony) of Fredericton and mother-in -law Pearl Smith, brothers Wayne (Jeannie), Kevin (Rowena), and sister Marilyn (Bob Inkpen), grandchildren Emily, Hannah, Alexander and Ava and nephews John, David, Chad and Peter.

Ross, a teacher for over 30 years, retired in 1992. However, he remained active in the community as an Executive Member of the Boy Scouts of Canada, Board President of the Gander Co-op, active member of both provincial and local United Church Committees and an active member of the 50+ group. Ross' hobbies included travel, playing the accordion and fishing.

Visitation is at Stacey’s Funeral Home in Gander Thursday, August 18, 2022 between 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

Church service will be at Fraser Road United Church on Friday, August 19th at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Fraser Road United Church.
