It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ella Mae Paynter (affectionately known as Mae) announces her peaceful passing on October 1, 2022 at the age of 94.

Predeceased by Husband Albert Paynter; Mother Jessie Mayo; Siblings Max Mayo, John Mayo, and Susan Redmond.

Left with Fond and Loving memories, daughter Myrtle Mahoney (Dan), son Albert Paynter (Penny), son Jim Paynter (Sharon); cherished grandchildren Todd, Amanda, John, Matthew, Megan, and T.J.; brother Clayton Mayo (Elsie), Sister Bell Power, Brother Lem Mayo (Mary) also left with loving memories great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren along with countless other family and friends.

Mae was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother full of life and love, always bringing happiness, fun and excitement to everyone around her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends watching local Hockey games, playing games and enjoying life. Mae had a passion for animals and supported the SPCA whenever able through her lifetime.

The family of the late Mae Paynter would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to staff of Golden years estates and the medical staff at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre for the compassionate care they provided her and the family during her stay.

Resting at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Tuesday Occtober 4th, 2022 between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the Fraser Road United Church, Gander on Wednesday October 5th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Stephen Matthews with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations in Mae’s memory can be made to the Gander & area SPCA.
