It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Marie Hurley (Coleman) of Badger, at age 73. Margaret passed away peacefully on the morning of November 24 at the Gander Long Term Care Center.
Marg was born in Badger NL to the late Joseph and Ethel Coleman. She graduated high school at St. Catherine’s in Grand Falls. The majority of her career involved working for Harvey’s Travel in Grand Falls as a Travel Agent and on to retire as Manager. In between those years she worked as the school secretary at Avoca Collegiate; always the first smiling face you’d see when you walked into the office. Despite many challenges and struggles she faced in life she remained a kind, caring person always thinking of others, before herself and always provided a loving and warm home for her family.
Marg was known for many things but none more than her cooking skills, card playing prowess and her love of family.
She was a fabulous hostess. When you were lucky enough to visit her house, you always felt welcome and never left hungry.
Marg is survived by her two daughters and their families: Tracey Valentine and her husband Robert, of West Palm Beach, Florida, Andrea Letto and her husband Johnny of Gander, NL. Her three grandchildren who brought her so much joy: Sara Valentine, Bobby Valentine and Benjamin Letto. She is also survived by her brother, Greg Coleman of Badger, NL.
In her memory, a donation can be made to the Central Northeast Health Foundation or an organization of your choice that are helping families during this Christmas season. As most of you know Margaret loved Christmas and was in her happy place when she was helping someone else.
A Memorial Service will be held in Badger on December 10th ,2022 at the Scared Heart Parish at 11:30 am..
Arrangements entrusted through Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander - Carmanville.
