Obituary for Edward (Ewart) James Shea

Edward (Ewart) James Shea
October 29, 1934- December 1,2022

Its with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of a beloved brother and uncle and my God father. Edward lived a full life and always did things his way. Edward was the son of Ross and Stella Shea now (deceased)and raised in Glenwood. He excelled in education at a very young age and upon graduating received the Governor General Award for academic excellence. When he was 8 years old he planted Norwegian Maple trees in his garden and for 80 years he nurtured and tended to those trees and they surrounded his home and heart and it was his grandest love. As a young adult he became a Master mind player at anything he done. He could type 150 words a minute. The hardest crossword puzzle was completed in a unbeatable speed. He could listen to two radio stations at one time and never miss a beat that man had several radio’s going all day and all night long. His richness was knowledge and over his lifetime he shared his knowledge to help many people from filing income tax which he done right up until his 88th year, or acting as a lawyer to represent a friend in court which he would always avail. No matter what game he played he always had the trump card in his back pocket his instincts and intelligence and humor really made him a Master Mind Player. During his early years he was accountant and secretary for the government and post master in Glenwood. In his later years he worked at the Government Farm in Glenwood where he retired. He loved the Gander lake and spent most of his free time there at his cabin in Hunt’s Cove with his dear friends Kevin , Larry, and Navin just to mention a few. If you were lucky enough to be his friend there would be no end to loyalty. However if he loved ya you new it and if he never ya knew that too he was never a man of two face he spoke his mind with great conviction always had a wealth of words to choose from I would call him a walking dictionary. Loyalty was always his motto and that never wavered. After retirement he tended his garden and home cooked countless meals for his feline companion named Cat he loved her with his whole heart she had just recently died and he missed her very much. He spent countless hours entertaining his friends and family his story telling ability was second to none and he loved to make people laugh and his laughter will be deeply missed by all who who had the pleasure to be in his company. His sister Ann and her three daughters Wanda , Glenda and Sherrie lived in the same garden side by side and we all shared a very deep rooted love for each other and he was surrounded by that very love as he took his last breath . Edward had a soft spot for children and Jessica , Cameron ,Brandon, Kaitlyn, Heidi, Joel, Lilah, Quinn and Harris were all touched by his love and affections. His friendships were deeply rooted he had a lot of lasting friend ships over the years some of his close friends have pasted away but they we’re never forgotten. He will certainly be missed by Silvia Day a life long friend whom he loved dearly and looked forward to her visits and phone calls . Dillon Thistle and Mitch Merner whom were treated like the sons he never had he loved you both . Edward will be deeply missed by many friends and family . His mighty maples are still standing after the fire and we will take great pride and honor in keeping his life long legacy alive . A cremation has taken place as per Edwards request. And his secret to his fountain of youth will go with him he was truly ageless . In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Glenwood fire department for all their hard work and heroic efforts to get our dearly loved Edward out of the burning house. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Ann , Wanda , Glenda and Sherri .
