Obituary for Keith F. Walker
Francis Keith Walker
March 15, 1953 – December 19, 2022
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Keith Walker, who died of cancer in Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor, at the age of 69 years.
Keith was a lifelong resident of Norris Arm South. As a boy, he excelled in math, although his severe epilepsy made attending school a challenge. He later completed a course in handcrafts in Stephenville, where he learned to produce beautifully engraved leatherwork. Keith also enjoyed carpentry and construction, and he helped friends to build, plumb, and wire several houses and cabins around town. Some of his favourite pastimes were long chats, travelling around Newfoundland with his careworker and best buddy Monica, and having a Tim’s coffee. He was a loving father to his daughter Kerry, and a proud Poppy to her daughter, Catie.
Keith will be greatly missed and dearly remembered by his daughter Kerry (Christoph Reisinger); granddaughter Catherine Reisinger; sister Dale (Joe Fahey); brothers Glenn (Marilyn), Junior (Jackie), Darren (Teri), and Robert (Tania); many nieces and nephews; and special friends Bob (Dee) Regular, Danielle (Sheldon) Compton, and Monica (Derrick) Hibbs.
A memorial service to celebrate Keith’s life will be held in Norris Arm this summer, when the family are able to travel home to be together.
