Obituary for Allister Hussey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allister Clarence Hussey at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in the arms of his loving wife of 43 years and surrounded by family love.

Allister was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Dora, his brother Mervin, his parents-in-law Alonzo and Gertrude Power, his brother-in-law Jim Power.

He is survived by his wife Jocelynne (Power), His children: Dale(Brian) of Gander, Dennis (Ann) or Grande Prairie, AB, Leah (Dwayne) of Benton, Brian (Jennifer) of Buchans, David (Vanessa) of Churchill Falls, NL and Beverly of Fort Smith, NT. His Brothers: Fred (Mary) of Benton and Leo (Alice) of Gander, Brothers-in-Law: Lonnie (Doreen), Perry (Elizabeth), Brendan, Sister-in-Law: Tina, Jacinta, Mary Lou. Grandchildren: Zachary, Lucas, Jacob, Daniel, Nicholas, Mya, Jesse, Eloise, Emma, Thomas and Isabella. He also leaves a large circle of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, as well as many extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gander chapter of SPCA. Allister loved all animals and could often be found feeding the birds and other small animals at his garage and his cabin. He was a very caring, kind-hearted man who always had a smile for everyone. Allister was much loved and will be forever missed.

Special thanks go to Dr. M. Paulus and the nursing staff of the Palliative Care/Medical unit of JPMH who went above and beyond to ensure Allister’s last days were as comfortable as possible.

As per his wishes, Allister has been cremated. The family will hold a short visitation at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

A private family service will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2023 at 11:00 AM from Stacey's Funeral Home. Interrment will follow.
