Obituary for Marjorie Mary Lane

LANE
Marjorie Mary
August 31st, 1939 – January 17th, 2023

With a heavy heart I would like to announce the passing of my dear sister, Marjorie at the Dr. Y.K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfrield on Tuesday January 17th, 2023.

Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Edward & Anne Lane (nee Blackler) and her baby brother.

She is survived by her sister Pauline and special friend John Lush.

Marjorie worked for many years at the Gander International Airport. She loved planes and everything revolving around aviation.

She enjoyed travelling, especially to Cuba, where she had many lifelong friends, among them was Fidel Castro. Marjorie was interviewed many times by the media-radio and television about her acquaintance with The Revolutionary.

During the tenure of her employment she met many celebrities: Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, Whoopi Goldberg, and Queen Elizabeth II, just to name a few.

Marjorie loved animals. On many occasions she brought home stray cats and dogs. She also had a passion for horseback riding. She was an avid reader and was very knowledgeable on most subjects as she read most everything. Marjorie will be sadly missed by people who knew her as a very witty person with a great sense of humor.

I would like to thank the Doctor and Medical Staff at the Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre for taking such good care of Marjorie during her stay.

Last, but not least I would like to thank Father Hearn and especially Father Brophy who in adverse weather conditions drove down from Gambo to comfort us and Marjorie during her final hours.

R.I.P my Darling Sister.
