Obituary for Garfield Dyke

It is with great sadness that the family of Garfield William Dyke announce his passing at James Paton Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 21, 2023.

Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Catherine Dyke of Salvage and his wife Alma.

Left to mourn with loving memories are sons Bernie (Rhonda) of Gander, Paul (Florence) of Gander, grandchildren Andy (Connie), Michael (Caitlyn), Zack (Raylene) and Dylan. Great-grandchildren Kailyn, Emily, Alex, Benjamin, Lauren, Adley, and Isaiah. Also Madison and special buddy Mason. Brothers-in-law Eugene (Marjorie), Kyrl, sister-in-law Olive (Brian), Kay, Yvonne (Terry), Patricia (Steve), Marilyn, many nieces and nephews.

Gar touched the lives of many who knew him. A very mild mannered loving Man with a whitty sense of humor. His love for his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was beyond measure.

Special Thank-you to professional and caring staff of St. Clare’s and James Paton Memorial Hospital. Your compassion will always be remembered. A special Thanks to Marilyn from the bottom of our hearts for always being there.

Family will be receiving friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Wednesday, April 26th from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. A small family funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Stacey’s Funeral Home.

Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Gar’s memory may be made to Gander Baseball Association.
