Francis Raymond

March 6, 1940 – May 20, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Francis (Ray) Raymond Dunn announce his passing on May 20th, 2026 at the age of 86.

Ray was born in Harbour Grace, NL to the late Valentine and Rita Dunn (Coombs). Ray spent a few years in Goose Bay, NL working as a firefighter. There, he met the love of his life, Linda Pike. They later moved to Milton, Ontario, where he and Linda eventually married on June 24th, 1967. Ray spent his career working on the ramp with Air Canada as well as a volunteer firefighter. Ray and Linda had two children; Jason and Jennifer.

When Ray and Linda retired, they returned to Newfoundland and spent their years living in different communities on the island; Goose Cove, Musgravetown, Southern Harbour, Milton, and Gander to name a few. They also lived in New Brunswick for a short period of time. Ray took an interest in antique furniture, and loved to play a game of cribbage.

Ray is survived by his children, Jason and Jennifer; his grandchildren Taylor, Cody and Matthew; sister Nell Finn and his sister-in-law Maxine Dunn, along with many nieces and nephews. Ray is predeceased by his loving wife, Linda; parents Val and Rita, in-laws Willis and Mollie Pike, three sisters Peg Pratt, Anne Finn and Kathleen Weidman and brother Val.

In keeping with Ray's wishes cremation has taken place . A commital service will be held at the Anglican Cemetery , Catalina at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff and management of Golden Years Estate, Gander for their care and compassion for the past seven years. Also, a huge thank you to the nurses and staff at Brookfield Hospital, New-Wes-Valley, NL.
