Mary Elizabeth Mason (nee: Jones)

April 28, 1937 – November 30, 2025

Passed peacefully away at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, Nova Scotia on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 88 years of age.

Predeceased by parents, Edward and Cora May Jones; parents-in-law, Wilfred and Mary Mason; husband, David; son, Ross; sisters Mildred Spurrell, Marie Yetman and Cora Noseworthy; brother, Bill Jones; sister-in-law, Mary Jones; brother-in-laws Albert Spurrell; Allan Yetman; and Roy Noseworthy.

Left to mourn with precious memories are her son David (Joanne) Mason (Nova Scotia); sisters, Helen (Phil) Abbott (Bonavista); Francie (Will) Templeman (Bonavista); Brother Charlie (Audrey) Jones (St. John’s); as well as a large circle of family and friends.

A special thank you to nieces Donna Kelly (Don) of Gander; Christina Kieley (Perry) of Gander; Tonya Abbott (Mike) of Gander and nephew Rick (Loretta) of Happy Adventure. Aunt Mary held a special place in their hearts and was always remembered and treasured. She loved hearing from them and always kept in touch.

Mary had a special bond with her sister Marie. They were not just sisters but best friends. Over the years many letters were sent back and forth. It was always a big deal when a letter arrived from sister Mary like clockwork every other week. She never forgot a birthday and you could count on her card being the first to arrive. It was an ongoing joke with the “Yetman” family that there would be no sleeping in when Aunt Mary visited. She was noisier than a marching band when she got up with the crows. We heard it all but due to her complete deafness she never heard a thing. She was truly loved and adored.

The family would like to thank the staff at Dykeland Lodge for caring for Mary during her extended stay.

As per Mary’s wishes cremation has taken place. Inurnment to follow at Beaverbank Church of the Good Sheppard, Beaverbank, Nova Scotia.
