HOLLOWAY
Kevin Dwight
September 27, 1959 - July 6, 2026
It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected sudden passing of Kevin Dwight Holloway. We take comfort in the fact that although we are suffering with this terrible loss, Dwight was doing what he loves most, salmon fishing.
Born in 1959, Dwight lived most of his life in Gander. When he was 17, Dwight enlisted in what would end up being a life of service with the Canadian Armed Forces and Squadron 103 Search and Rescue. He was proud to serve his country and during the late 90s he transferred to the Primary Reserve of the Royal Canadian Air Force where he was the first radio operator in a Primary Unit. Recognizing an opportunity to better the communications, he worked tirelessly with SAR, the Coast Guard, RCMP, and numerous other emergency service and safety organizations to build a foundation of organized communication that would support thousands of life saving missions, still in service today.
Dwight will be remembered for his many passions in life including spending time at the family cabin, sharing time with loved ones, riding the trails and highways, fishing, hunting, and all things outdoors. He loved to teach and help others, whether it was tying flies or first aid. More than anything, he was a dedicated family man and member of his community.
Dwight was the most devoted son to his Mom and late Dad; Olive and Gerald Holloway.
Dwight leaves behind his incredibly loving wife, Tracy with whom he shared 3 children: Jonathan Kean (Cassandra) of Torbay, Rebecca Pittman of Fort McMurray, Kendra Pittman of Gander.
Dwight was the very best big brother to his 2 sisters: Penny Dawe (Wendell) of St. John's and Leona Laite (Allan) of Ontario.
Uncle Dwight will be forever loved by his nieces and nephews; Codi Walters (Matt) of Ontario, Tanner Laite (Monica) of Ontario, Shelby Laite of Ontario, Charli Dawe of St. John's and great nephew Bennett Walters of Ontario.
Dwight was the proudest, most fun, loving, and devoted Poppy to his 4 grandbabies: Jake, Noah and Ben Kean of Torbay and Josie Martin of Fort McMurray.
Dwight has many many friends, although we cannot name them all, our family would like to acknowledge his closest lifelong friends Claude and Lynn Gill.
The family will be receiving friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, 60 Roe Avenue, Gander on Friday July 10, 2026 between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday July 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from The Salvation Army Gander Citadel, followed by cremation.
