In Loving Memory of Viola Granville (née Scott)**

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Viola Granville (née Scott), a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and treasured sister and friend.

Viola was the beloved wife of Jack Granville, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion. She was the proud and loving mother of Gary (Liz), Glen, Scott (Marilyn), and Paula (Andy) Allen.  She was predeceased by her eldest son Brad, whose unexpected passing was the greatest sorrow of her life. She held a special place in her heart for Brad's wife, Linda, and always looked forward to her visits where they shared treasured memories, photographs, and stories of Brad.

Viola was a proud grandmother to Dustin, Tara, Nicole, Mandy, Janine, Jasmine, Stephanie, Kevin, Tony, Dawson, Jesse, and step-granddaughter Vicky. She was also blessed with beautiful great-grandchildren Grady, Gabe, Rory, Lyla, Chase, Rachel, Dax, Crew, Mirabella, and Simon. Her family was her greatest joy and she loved each one deeply. If there was one thing everyone knew about Viola, it was that her superpower was worrying about the people she loved. She cared endlessly, always wanting to know that everyone was safe, well-fed, and happy.

Viola was born in Carter’s Cove, NL, the daughter of Dorman and Effie (Hynes) Scott, and grew up in a large family.  Left to remember her are sisters Audrey, Joyce, Ruth, Lorraine and Norma.  She was predeceased by sisters Mildred, Elva, Shirley and brothers Winslow, Bert and Gerald.

Her kitchen was the heart of her home. Viola was well known for her homemade bread, delicious molasses buns, blueberry and lemon pies and the countless meals she lovingly prepared.


Some of Viola's happiest memories were made at the family's summer home in Kettle Cove and at their winter place down south hosting family and friends. She treasured those times especially when it included a hearty meal, plenty of laughter and a spirited game of 120s. 

Viola's legacy is one of unconditional love, quiet strength, generosity and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
