Eileen Walsh Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of Eileen Walsh (Dwyer) announces her passing on August 11, 2026 at the Palliative Care Unit at the James Paton Memorial Hospital. She was surrounded by her husband and children. Eileen was a devoted Wife, the best Mom and treasured Nana. She was a devoted sister and friend.
Eileen was an avid gardener, spending many hours caring for all her flowers and plants. Her caring nature was evident to all those around her. She was a quiet force, always there to offer support but never overstepping. Eileen was the heart of her family. She supported her husband through many moves during his military career and encouraged his love of performing music. For her children, she was dependable and present. For her grandchildren, she was the most proud Nana-spending quality time and making sure she attended all their important events. Eileen comes from a very large family and always shared in all their joys and sorrows. She lived a quiet but purposeful life and has left a lasting imprint on so many. Never a complaint and always a smile, Eileen’s kindness will live on through all those who loved her.
Left to grieve are her husband John Robert Walsh, daughter Denise O’Keefe (Julee), granddaughters Lauren and Audrey, daughter Joanne Earle (Jason), grandson Robert, and son Steve Walsh (Marilyn), sisters Queen Blundon (Dave), Mary Parsons (Sam), Maureen Clout (Barry), Ness Skinner (Dave), brothers Wayne Dwyer (Joan), David Dwyer (Marilyn), Don Dwyer (Ann), Pat Dwyer (Brenda) sister-in-law Loretta Dwyer and brother-in-law Charlie Maloney as well as the Walsh Family plus many extended family members and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Gerald and Mary Dwyer, her sister Valerie Dwyer, nephew John Carlos Maloney, niece Charlee Valerie Maloney, great-niece Molly O’Keefe, brother Jim Dwyer, parents-in-law Bride and Ned Walsh, brothers-in-law Brian Walsh, Ray Walsh, Joe Hyde and sisters-in-law Eileen Walsh and Bertille Hyde.
The care received under Dr. Paulus and the entire Palliative Care Team at the James Peyton Memorial Hospital was exceptional. Through Eileen’s brief battle with cancer, we are so grateful to have seen her cared for by such professional and compassionate staff.
