The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Frederick Moffitt can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: John Murphy
Condolence: When I went to Gander to play in my first Gander Invitational golf tournament, one of the first people I met when I walked into the Club House was Freddie. Once we were introduced he treated me as if he'd known me his whole life. And it remained that way from then on. Even if I hadn't seen him for a year or three it didn't matter. He always had a warm handshake, a big smile and some tidbit or other of news from Gander to tell me about. Freddie deserves every kind word that has been and is going to be said about him. I know I'll be adding my share. My condolences to his wife and family. You have lost a great one. But then, you don't need me to tell you that.

Condolence: Anne and family
Sadly we never have met, but I have only the fondest memories of Fred. I was fortunate to serve as a USAF pilot on exchange with 47 Squadron from 1984-87 and had the great privilege of often flying and partaking of the odd libation or two with Flt Lt Moffitt. I read with great amusement the condolence posted by John Barrass and had to smile at his rendition of the "beer bazooka" incident in the mess. I was lucky to attend the test firing at a local pub just before the evening's events. My fondest memories of Fred are those sort of occasions where he was always in the fray and was loved by all. He was a tremendous aviator, and I must say quite a chef as well. He graciously hosted the "Colonial" pair and other couples at a superb dinner party at his house with the main course pheasant under glass....all of which he prepared himself! So I guess I am not surprised that he later opened a restaurant. Please accept my and my wife Pat's most sincere condolences....Fred was most kind to the two Yanks and their family. God bless.

Condolence From: Corey Ford
Condolence: Anne and family, I was deeply saddened to hear the news this week of Fred's passing. I've read a lot of such wonderful comments and stories of Fred's life. There is no question he was such a remarkable man and left a remarkable impression upon everyone he met. There was never a dull moment when Fred was around. There are so many wonderful and outstanding memories that we all have that will never be forgotten. Thinking of you all through this difficult time.
