Hilda Jean Winsor, aged 83, deceased Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Lakeside Homes, Gander. Born January 10, 1934, Pike's Arm, Newfoundland, Jean was the loving daughter of the late David and Eva [Cutler] Stuckey. She is predeceased by her husband Malcolm Clarence Winsor, sister Barbara [Stuckey] Oates, brother Baxter and adopted brother Stewart. Jean leaves to mourn her three sons Tony (Rosemary), Paul and Randy (Cathy), as well as an extended circle of relatives and friends including her cherished granddaughter and grandson Anna and Liam and niece Tammy.
Jean was an early resident of Gander and told many stories of fun times on the old town site. She relished social activities with her friends, be it an afternoon tea, a card game or bingo, as long as there were laughs and stories to tell. She excelled at being a homemaker and took great pride in her house on Elizabeth Drive. (Her red dahlias in the front garden were not to be missed!) Jean loved being outdoors and enjoyed time spent fishing, berry picking or cutting wood with her husband. She found great joy in music and singing and was a longtime member of the Fraser Road United Church.
Visitation will take place at Stacey's Funeral Home, 60 Roe Avenue on Thursday April 6, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday April 7, 2017 from of 2-4 p.m., the funeral service will take place from the Fraser Road United Church on Saturday April 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Kathy Brett officiating,. Interment to take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander/Carmanville.
