E. Lester Stoyles
February 10, 1921 – December 28th 2017
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving father E. Lester Stoyles age 96 years at the James Paton Memorial Health Center on December 28th 2017 .
Predeceased by his parents James and Blanche Stoyles , wife Trixie, son Max and brother Alfred.
Left to mourn with very fond and loving memories are his daughters Glennis and Wendy (Wayne) , son Scott (Lynda), grandsons Cameron and Keegan (Yan) , sisters Leonie, Marguerite, Ruth (Charles), brother Ray (Lillian) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He spent 5 ½ years with the Newfoundland Forestry Unit in Scotland during WW II and settled in Gander early 1946.
He was an active member of Fraser Road United Church, Royal Canadian Legion , Masonic Lodge and he collected for several charities well into his 80's. He really enjoyed 12 years of volunteering with the Vera Perlin School taking the children swimming.
We wish to thank the wonderful staff of the James Paton Memorial Heath Center , who were so kind and caring to him on his visits, as well as Dr. P. Matthews and Dr. E. Collins, who always treated Dad with such great respect. He appreciated all of you.
Resting at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander on Thursday January 18, 2018 from 2-9 p.m.. Funeral service to take place from Fraser Road United Church, Gander on Friday January 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Kathy Brett.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion - Gander Branch, Fraser Road United Church or to a charity of one's choice.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend, and he will be greatly missed.
