Condolence: Jimmy was a Sergeant @ CABC the summer of 1977, and was my JM on serial #7712. He gave me my "good to go" in the first week of J-stage Airborne qual...his influence kept me alive when I jumped with IDF Para, and later, a year I spent in the jungle in Central America. A million thanks, Jimmy...AIRBORNE!

Condolence: I first met Jimmy when I was a private in Petawawa. He scared the daylights out of me. It did not help that Karin and I did our TQ3s together. He was an inspiration to young soldiers and paratroopers. My deepest condolences to the whole family. He is in peace. Rest well jumper

Condolence From: Mike Houghton
Condolence: Jim was influential in my military career, firstly in my learning to be a young officer in 2RCR Germany, and secondly in my training as a paratrooper in the Airborne Regiment. Upon my return to the Airborne Regiment in 1987 as Commander, I was very disappointed to find that Jim had just left. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss along with my huge respect for this fine soldier.

Condolence: I remember Jim from earlier days in 4 Platoon, B Company, 2 RCR, Ft. York, Germany 65-68...I was a young officer and Jim was one of the guys who helped me learn my job. He was a good man, with a ready smile and definitely knew his way around the bush. Jim had a great sense of humour, was kind and an all-round 'good guy'... later on we also served together in the Canadian Airborne Regiment. Great ambassador for Newfoundland he was....! Thanks for all the help you gave to me Jim! Condolences to the family. RIP
