January 22nd, 1955 – April 9th, 2023

It is with deep sadness that the family of David D. Peckford announce his passing on April 9, 2023, age 68, surrounded by family and love at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL. His battle with complications following a stem cell transplant showed his courage in facing those challenges, and despite it all, Dave remained our hero, staying strong until the end.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Flora (nee Fancey) and Wilbur Peckford, in-laws Gladys Beck, Reginald Beck and Violet Beck, nephew Michael Lingard, and niece Tammy Hayes.

Leaving to mourn with precious memories are his loving wife of 48 years, Karen; his beloved son Christopher David Peckford (Julia Thorne); his siblings Yetta (Arthur Vivian), Annie (Bill Harbin), Evelyn Peckford (Maisie), Calvin Peckford (Christine), Clifford Peckford (Rosie), Ivy Francis, Verna Peckford, and Renee Peckford; sister- and brother-in-law Lisa and Everett Bishop; brother- and sister-in-law Paul and Eithne Beck; numerous nephews and nieces and their families, all of whom he cherished dearly; as well as a large circle of family and dear friends.

Family will be receiving friends at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Wings Point on Wednesday April 12th, 2023 from 4-6 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday April 13th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Cemetery, Clarke’s Head.

Flowers gratefully accepted, or contributions to the Lionel Kelland Hospice in Grand Falls-Windsor in Dave’s memory will be greatly appreciated.
